A Recital Extraordinaire

With me living in Australia and with the grandchildren living in New Zealand I miss out on some many of the happenings in their lives. So while I was over in New Zealand I was soooo lucky to have DGD perform a violin recital of all of the musical pieces that she has learnt so far in her violin lessons. I am totally amazed at how much young minds can absorb and was so impressed with the fact that she was able to read music. Anyway here is a layout that I have scrapped with a few of the photos that I took.

When I was first married I obtained a copy of the Edmonds Cookery Book. This cookbook became very tattered while I cooked and baked many, many recipes from it. After moving house a few times I lost my cookery 'bible' (and those of you from New Zealand or ex-pats will know what I mean). So one of the first things I did while I was in NZ was buy a new copy. I am in heaven. I have been trying out all the recipes that I enjoyed cooking in my younger years.

A Blog Facelift...My trip to New Zealand...Freebie...and Nuts4Digi is still down AARRRGGG!!

Nuts4Digi is still down!! Fiona and I decided to change webhosts as the site was growing too fast and it has turned out to be the worst decision of our lives. And to complicate matters I have been on holidays in New Zealand and Fiona and family have been experiencing a run of illness in the family that you would not believe. So our apologies to everyone that loves to visit the site. All I can say is I hope that things get resolved very soon.

So to keep myself occupied inn the meantime I have given my old blog a face lift and deleted all the old posts and am starting afresh.

My trip to New Zealand went well and the new grandson is a darling. I didn't do much. Just helped DD look after the baby and get settled into a routine. He is doing well and is thriving. He has put on a kilo since his birth.

Here's a photo of the two other cheeky monkeys at the airport while I was waiting to go through departures.

DGD Holly is learning the violin and of course she gave me a violin recital. For having only been learning it for a short time she is very accomplished and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Who loves chocolate? mmmmmmm yummy chocolate. On a couple of our shopping outings we visited a chocolate lounge. They make the most exquisite chocolates and chocolate drinks. And guess what!! They have a couple here in Melbourne. I am definitely going to take the time to visit when ever I make a trip to the city. Don't these look yummy!!

Have you ever taken a group of 5 year olds to the zoo? as part of my 'duties' I was was a helper for DGS1's class when they visited the Auckland Zoo. Needless to say on the day it was pouring with rain but we did have some sunny breaks. I think I must be getting old because by the end of the day I was exhausted. What is the fascination with drinking fountains? We had to stop at every single one that we encountered so that everyone could have a drink. But having said that I wouldn't have missed the day for anything.

Today is Fathers Day here in Australia so I must away and get ready to go visit my Dad.

ETA: I was in such a hurry I forgot to add the freebie. I will be back later today to add it.
